Benefits

National Benefits
Energy storage is an enabling technology in the drive for decarbonisation through supporting renewable but intermittent resources such as wind and solar. It is a cost effective energy solution that can help defer or negate the need for grid reinforcement at national level.

Local Benefits
Connecting to the National Grid network enables the energy storage facility to provide local benefits, such as resilience and services for the local network operator, whilst also supporting the wider transition network at a regional and national level. There is also a need for BESS development in this area to benefit numerous large scale consented schemes within the area.

Environmental Benefits
Energy storage facilities can provide modern, safe and clean technology. The project takes on board key environmental considerations and the development is considered to have very limited environmental impact. The development will also result in a Biodiversity Net Gain through devoting parts of the land to ensuring this is achieved, in addition to exploring other biodiversity measures such as riparian planting along the Moor Ditch.

Community Benefits
Our project brings diverse advantages, including land use diversification, job creation, education initiatives, and investment in local community groups and charities.
